The baby can get to "Messy" from *any* state, not just from asleep-after-feeding-since-last-Messy. You're missing lines from just about every other state into Messy.
If that "someone" was me and Kerry that's not quite the same thing that we were talking about. We were talking about a decision tree to determine the best course of action, not a graph depicting the actual state of things.
Though John makes a good point... our flowchart always checked diaper first. Feeding babies often makes them messy, and fussy is often a sign of more messy.
