Lonely

For whatever reason, a wave of loneliness just smacked me pretty hard.

Generally, when I get lonely, I call people up and do something social. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work, and the stuff I'm working on these days is pretty solitary. (It's also pretty stuck, as I'm waiting for the tech support guys at Altera to answer a question about their VHDL analysis software.) Result: one non-happy phoenix.

So, straight up: if you're interested in doing something, going somewhere, or hanging out, an invite would be nice. (I have a family thing Saturday, but am otherwise flexible.)

I hope you feel better soon... you never managed solitary well. I'm able to budget one activity a day (today's will be a walk to the comic book store I think) out and about. I might be up for something low key later in the week. We'll keep in touch if you don't find anything else.

my weekend is quite booked, and I have a cold to boot, so you probably want to stay away from me for a little while - after that though, I'd be willing to go out to do something.

It doesn't help that I'm more than busy these days! I don't travel all year with work, and then suddenly I'm out of town for nearly a month.

I am finding it kinda lonely though. Not being in touch with my friends has been surprisingly difficult, in that it's the only negative thing I've experienced so far. It helps that this week I'm here with my coworkers but we've taken a bit of a vacation and it's odd being this social with work people. Especially as they are military and not science people.

I hope it gets better for you, but I won't be able to do much to help. Sorry! At least I hope a friendly "I'm thinkin' of ya" is of some use...
