Evil and heroism

Many of you know about the Milgram experiment; Philip Zimbardo gave a TED talk about it, and his own Stanford prison experiment, which I think distills these results down to their essence, and gives some hope and ideas for what to do about it.

Trigger warning: video contains photos of brutality and nudity; this is not light stuff.

Haven't looked at the TED talk yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if I've already seen it. Growing up with my parents, this stuff (psych. experiment tales) was bedtime stories to us (explains a lot?). Plus, my B.A. honors project supervisor worked closely with Zimbardo, to the point that they're on first name basis and suchlike. Fascinating, utterly fascinating stuff, I've always thought. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure I'll enjoy (and possibly have more substantial comments ;) when I get around to looking at it more closely. :)
