I don't plan to be an early-early adopter on this, but if early reviews are good, particularly from people I trust to assess security issues well (probably better than I would!), I will probably want to get in on it. A recent XKCD sums up my feelings pretty well.

Are any of you folks using it yet? If so, any word?

None of the invites I sent out yet are working. =(

Heck, I'm not sure if *MY* account is truly working because to DO anything you kind of have to have some connections already made.

*nods* If Google doesn't fix that soon and scale up the operation, they may miss the window.

How is this any better or different than Buzz? It seems the world is willing to give Google a second chance and has therefore forgotten the great blunder.
Personally, I have not forgotten. The Buzz thing is going to keep me from joining + for a long time I think, just to make sure that all he bugs are worked out.

Buzz was a failed Twitter; G+ looks like something between FB and LJ, from what I'm hearing, and might not be fail.

Google having an abortive initiative isn't a big deal to me. Their hoopla around Buzz was premature; they seem to be taking a more measured approach to G+. If they don't scale it up soon, though, they might miss the window... we'll see.

The Buzz privacy violation is the sort of thing that would have already been found in Google+ if it existed.

I heartily join hands in the joy of it not being facebook.

I'm liking it so far. There are some bugs in the "not a security issue" variety, but those seem to get worked out pretty quickly. Really, it feels more like Livejournal than Facebook to me.

They certainly take their time opening it up. It seems to be random, but I was invited early in day 2, after it trickled out beyond journalists and celebrities. I still have not been able to join though, because they are always over capacity. Invites are not enough.

The good news is that you can still add me to your circles if you know my email (or even my name since I have a Google profile). I will be mailed whatever you post to the circle I am in, from a separate gmail account (not your primary if you use gmail). I won't be able to comment though until I am allowed to join.
