Other research postulates that FM (fibromyalgia) may be linked to a decrease in serotonin (feel good nerotransmitters) and an increase in substance P (the neurotransmitter that makes you feel pain) I think this is where the link to depression comes in, as depression is linked to serotonin not being used properly by the brain.

It is a real disease, not well understood, and may have several causes and links.
*nod* I do, however, know people who suffer from FM and not from any mood disorder, and vice versa... there may be things which make both more likely, though.
I wasn't trying to say that all people with depression have FM or vise versa, that simply isn't the case, just that they have found some changes in brain chemistry and how people process pain and other sensations.
