Not sure I understand all the comparisons to HoL. Yes, it's a horror story about a house. To me, the parallels end there.

Both are about the horror of things not seen, it seems to me. They aren't identical by any means, but I suspect there is a good deal of overlap in the audiences who like them.

There's a part where he talks about this kid Drew/Andrew who ends up shooting a couple that unnerves me. Maybe because as I am reading that section, my crazy roommate is freaking out in his room and rambling to himself.
